Believe it or not, you can start a business with no money. I mean none. No savings, no handouts- no extra money at all to invest in a business.
I have started a few different businesses (virtual call center, dropshipping, and handmade dog accessories shop) since 2018 so I know how challenging it can be in the beginning when you have no money but you just want to start a business. There’s two ways you can start a business when you have no money.
How to start a business with no money online?
There are two ways that you can start a business with no money, no savings, handouts, or startup business loans. You can:

How to Get Money to Start a Business
One of the easiest ways to get money without a startup loan or handouts is to sell some of your stuff or some stuff you find for free.
First you have to decide how much money you need to get started – calculate all of your starting costs, inventory, website costs, ads (if you plan on paying for advertisement), shipping supplies, etc.
Then, you have to find find some stuff that you want to sell and decide how you want to sell your stuff. You can sell locally on OfferUp or Facebook Marketplace or online on selling platforms like eBay, Mercari, or Poshmark. Depending on what kind of items you are selling, you could have the money needed to start your business in a couple of months or less. You never know what can happen when you start working towards what you want.
10+ Easy Businesses to Start with No Money
There are a few businesses that you can start now without any money. You may need to learn a few skills (try Youtube or research like crazy) to start but the following businesses require absolutely no money to start up-
- Affiliate marketing– Get paid to promote other people’s products. This is perfect for those who don’t have a product to sell or you don’t want to create one. You can find companies to promote on Clickbank or get an Amazon Storefront and create content on social media to promote the products.
- Reselling– Find stuff to sell from your house or things you find for free and then decide where you want to sell it. You can sell it on online selling platforms like like Ebay and Mercari or locally on Offerup, Facebook Marketplace, or Craigslist.
- Selling Digital Products like Planner or PLR Products- You can create products to sell in Canva or sell premade products like PRL Products and upload them to Etsy or your own website! PRL products are products at are already created for you to use. You can rebrand them by changing it up and selling it as your own. You can find a lot of PRL products to resell like ebooks, printables, planners, etc. PRL products are great if you want to save time on creating your own digital products. - Dropshipping – Find a product that is really cool or solves a problem, create a website on Shopify or BigCartel for it and start bringing in traffic. You can use Pinterest or Social Media to attract your ideal customers for free.
- Selling your crafts – You can sell whatever you make, put together, sew, draw, crochet, write, knit, or your candles, dog bandanas, dog bowties, woodwork, jewelry creations, etc on Etsy or your own website! People are out here selling everything – there’s no reason why people wouldn’t want to buy your stuff too!
- Sell your talents – You can sell a lot of your talents like tutoring, teaching art, music, cooking, knitting, yoga, graphic design, personal training, using your photography skills, etc. Somebody wants to learn what you can teach – you’ll be amazed at
- Babysitting – People are always looking for good reliable babysitters who can watch their kids a few times a week or occasionally for a night out a few times month. You can find some babysitting jobs in your area by searching looking on Care.com or Sitter.com.
- Dog Walking – Due to 40+ hr work schedules, some owners aren’t able to walk or be with their fur babies and that’s where you come in. Find you a few dogs to walk a week. You can look for dog walking jobs near you on Rover.com or Petsitter.com
- Rent out Your Stuff – Car, house, spare rooms, bouncy houses, bikes, lawn mower, etc, can be rented out for a few hours or a day. You can rent your house, room, cabin, tent, treehouse, or land on Airbnb. To rent out your car, bike or RV, try Getaround or Turo.
- Build Websites – This is in high demand because some people prefer to pay someone to build a website for them. You can create a few to sell to certain industries. In your services, you can include website installation, offer custom website design, logo design and branding.
- Blogging – You can blog and share anything and find a way to monetize it. You can monteize your blog with ads, affiliate marketing, or by selling your own products or PLR products.
