I have been selling on eBay and Mercari since last year! I made $19k from reselling things that I found from local store, liquidation bins and pallets just on eBay. Along the way, I have found a few things that I absolutely needed in order to be able to successful in reselling on eBay or another selling platform. You really need the correct supplies in order to help you resell efficiently!

Here’s a few of things that you need when you start selling on eBay. These are items that I use personally because they are amazing and super economical.

Computer or iPad or Smartphone – to be able to list your items

Good lighting and a clear background – Turn on some lights and lamps and you can use any plain background to take great pics for your listing. You really don’t need any fancy equipment to start.

Printer or Thermal Ink Printer – It’s best to print off your own shipping labels so invest in a good printer or a thermal ink printer if you want to save on ink! I highly recommend investing in a thermal printer because it helps you save sooo much money! You can create marketing supplies and print off your shipping labels without any ink! It’s the best investment ever plus you can use it to create other items for your resell business.

Shipping Labels – Depending on the kind of printer you decide to you. For everyday printers, you will need side by side labels. For your thermal printer, you will need special labels that require no ink.

Tape – Good shipping tape. You don’t want your shipping boxes popping open because of cheap tape. You can order some from Amazon or UpakUship.

Poly mailers in different sizes! Ship lightweight items that do not require protection in poly mailers! You can find some at Amazon or UpakUship.

Shipping Scale – This is a MUST when you are reselling from home. This will help you weigh your items correctly for shipment. Incorrect weights will be charged to you by USPS or other shipping company orrrr your package will just get rejected and sent back to you!

Bubble Wrap or Packing Peanuts – PROTECT your items during shipment with bubble wrap or packing peanuts. This is a must have if you are shipping easily breakable or damaged items.

FREE Boxes from USPS- Order them for free here.  You can only use priority shipping for these priority boxes- if you try to ship in another shipping class, your package will get sent back to you and you will lose the original shipping cost that you paid

Storage Space – Your Inventory is going to need a clean and dry space to be stored! You can use plastic bins or an empty closet or room! I have a LOT of these storage cubes around my home.
