Life can totally be unexpected. Things are constantly and randomly happening and changing. We experience sooo many things that we never thought would happen like flat tires, job loss, illness, unexpected bills, bumper to bumper traffic, long lines, etc. It’s sooo easy to get caught up in the everyday hustle and struggles of life and that becomes all that we see. We tend to focus on the stuff that really gets to us and not the other good things that are going well for us. By focusing on the struggles, we miss the gifts of today and the present moment.
There are a lot of other good things that are going on in your life that you can focus on like waking up this morning, this device that you are reading this on, your family, your pets, having your favorite food for breakfast, etc. Don’t lose focus and take it all for granted because of a temporary situation and feeling. That thing will pass. You do not have to keep reliving and focusing on that one not so good feeling experience. You get to choose what you want to focus on.
Feel your feelings and breathe – this post is not telling you not to feel them You should always always feel and deal with your feelings and emotions. Just don’t sit and mope in the bad feeling ones all day. Because there’s always always something that’s good going in your life despite the other stuff that may be going on, just don’t lose sight of it, okay!
Focus on the good stuff in your life and let the rest be.
